From the farms of my family in Iowa to the ranches of the West, our agricultural lands are a treasure trove of images. They are filled with nostalgia for many of us and symbolic of lifestyles that we can't afford to lose. The old ways are fast being replaced with new ways of working the land aided by new technologies. The challenge of this century will be to protect our agricultural heritage, preserve open spaces, and implement more sustainable practices. I love the views of the past, but want to document the new ways with my camera as well.
