Eddies of "High Gnarl" Class IV complexity gifted up by awe-inspiring simple rules of abstraction and cellular automata. These are details from abstract paintings of acrylic polymer resin on canvas, painted with a baking tool, and in the historical Baroque limited palette of Caravaggio. This work grew out of my collaboration with computer scientists, physicists, biologists and other complexity researchers at Stephen Wolfram's New Kind of Science Summer School in 2004.
